L'ARDOISE NIAGARA CHARDONNAY 2024 VQA Niagara Peninsula, Ontario
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer BACHELDER
Medium straw colour, the nose is quite intense and faintly spicy with ripe, youthful, lemon-apple meringue aromas accompanied by gently toasty, mineral notes. Dry, medium-plus bodied, nicely structured, very bright, fresh, ripe, lemon-apple-pear meringue flavours with a long, lingering, harmonious, minerally, toast-tinged finish. Great with poultry, roasted vegetables and/or seafood. Aged for 16 months in neutral oak barrels, it has 12.5% alcohol and under 2 g/L residual sugar. TASTING NOTE: Sourced from older vines in Niagara benchlands and ancient lake beds, this Chardonnay was
vinified in neutral oak barrels, where it spent 16 months maturing without bâtonnage. It's richly scented, with an
elegantly silky, complex palate displaying ripe fruit, subtle oak shading, and classic limestone minerality.
