SOLDIER'S GRANT 2020 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer KEW
This unique partial-appassimento is an ever-changing blend that this time has a deep purple-red colour. The nose shows excellent complexity with somewhat earthy, ripe, plum-crancherry fruit along with violet-rose-tinged, cedar-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-plus bodied and well structured with intense, bright, ripe, plum-crancherry flavours followed up by a lingering, crisp, cedar-sandalwood finish. It has a hefty 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. This tasty new blend of 35% Cabernet Sauvignon (was 88%), 38% Cabernet Franc (was 12%) and 27% Merlot (none before) was aged for 18 months in French oak with some 13% of the grape clusters being kiln-dried for approximately 100 days. The lot number L2023 03 22 appears on the lower part of the glass bottle. CSPC 367318
