Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer DOMAINE LAFAGE
This ripe, rounded, ready-to-drink, crowd-pleasing Limoux Chardonnay has 30% aged in 1-year-old Burgundy barrels and 70% in tank on Viogier lees - both for 3 months. Pale straw colour with an intense, rather spicy, ripe, lemon-melon-apple-pear purée nose with some mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, harmonious, bright, spicy, gently toasty, ripe, lemon-apple-melon flavours with a lingering, crisp finish. This newly designated “Vins de France” (formerly IGP Pays d'Oc) has 13% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L24051 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Try with roast chicken. Round and textured, with simple apple pith and nectarines in the pristine yet flavorful palate. Lots of fruit in the round, medium- to full-bodied palate. Drink now.
