QUARRY ROAD PINOT NOIR 2021 VQA Vinemount Ridge, Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TAWSE
There are 13 Pinot Noir in this release - two from Ontario. This 2021 has a fairly light red colour with a ripe, very gently spicy, mineral-tinged nose focused on youthful plummy-cherry fruit along with some slight sandalwood notes and a hint of raspberry. Dry, medium bodied, quite nicely structured, fairly intense, lively, ripe, plum-cherry fruit with hints of cassis and fraise de bois on the lingering, well balanced finish. Still pretty youthful, this refined effort spent 12 months in 20% new French oak and has 12.5% alcohol and under 2 g/L residual sugar with number 15/02/23 on the lower part of the glass bottle.
