NEW in Vintages. Still youthful deep intense purple-tinged garnet red colour, this 2015 has a remarkable nose showing an abundance of refined, ripe, maturing, plum-black-cherry-cassis fruit with gently savoury, cedar-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, intense, ripe, Damson plum, blackberry-cherry-cassis flavours with a lingering, bright, gently rustic, mouthfilling, cedar-tinged finish. With 14.5% alcohol and under 1 g/L residual sugar with lot number 06/07/2017 on the lower part of the glass bottle, this very tasty blend of 91% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot was aged for 12 months in French oak (50% new). Only 15,600 bottles produced (1,300 cases). |

TASTING NOTE: This has impressive fleshy depth and is really plush and attractive with aromas and flavors of blueberries, cassis, dark cherries, savory and nutty elements and a smoothly rendered, fine finish. Terrific depth here. Try from 2021 [until 2030+]. Score - 94 (jamessuckling.com, Feb. 2, 2018) |
