BARBARESCO 2020 DOCG |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

If you enjoyed the very attractive, faintly richer 2018 Barbaresco on December 11, 2021 you will not be disappointed by this ripe accessible 2020. Medium deep red in colour, the nose is gently floral with dried roses and violet notes along with some faint Indian spices, hints of leather, ripe plums and sandalwood-cassis notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, nicely structured, bright, harmonious, ripe, plum-black-cherry-cassis flavours with a lingering, mineral-tinged, gentle sandalwood finish. Showing nicely, it has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L22BB20R on the back label. |

TASTING NOTE: A fragrant nose of red berries, spiced cherries, dried herbs, lavender and mild spices. Medium body with fine tannins and crisp acidity. Fresh and precise with balance and character. It's well-rounded with volume on the mid-palate. Silky texture and a precise, flavorful finish with excellent length. Drink or hold. Score - 93 (jamessuckling.com, July 28, 2023) |
