RIED STIFTSBREITE ST. LAURENT AUSSTICH 2020 Single vineyard, Thermenregion, Niederösterreich |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
STIFT KLOSTERNEUBURG |
Deep ruby purple colour. Intense, fairly complex, somewhat earthy, ripe plum fruit on the nose with a faintly sweaty note. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, bright, ripe, plum-crancherry fruit with a lingering, complex, somewhat earthy, high acid finish. This red will stand up well with bbq spicy sausages. Stift Klosterneuburg’s 40 hectare single-vineyard Stiftsbreite in Tattendorf is the largest St. Laurent vineyard in the world. |

TASTING NOTE: St. Laurent is an aromatic dark grape that's popular across central Europe but is most associated with Austria. This wine comes from Thermenregion: a relatively warm area of the Niederösterreich wine region. It shows cherry and spice notes and a silky mouthfeel. Enjoy it through 2026+.
