WILD FERMENT ASSYRTIKO 2022 PGI Peloponnese
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer SKOURAS
Here is a perfect white for seafood - especially oysters. This still-youthful 100% Assyrtiko has a very pale straw colour and a very fresh, somewhat chalky, mineral-driven, ripe, lemony, yellow grapefruit nose. Dry, medium bodied and nicely structured (sur lie for 4 months) with bright, fresh, faintly floral, citrusy, lemon meringue-ish flavours followed up by a lingering, refreshing, mineral-tinged finish that is somewhat reminiscent of Chablis. It has 13.5% alcohol, and under 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L230215 on the back label. Screwcap closure. NEW in Vintages - only 219 cases of 6 are available. CSPC 32387

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: Greek white wines really are something special, and this one is a superb example of why. Sourced from nine-year-old vines planted in red clay at an altitude of 600 metres, it's fresh and graceful, with citrus, apple, and a snappy saline minerality. Try it with grilled octopus for a truly authentic dining experience. It will continue to evolve through the end of the decade. Price $ 25.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
