This nicely structured new blend of 49% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc, 12% Cab Sauv, 6% Foch, 5% Pinot Noir, 3% Syrah, 3% other was aged 10 months in French and American oak. Very deep intense, purple colour. Good intensity of the nose which shows lots of ripe plummy fruit with some cassis, black cherry and scedar-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, bright, ripe, plum, crancherry and cassis flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, gently cedary finish. Still youthful but showing nicely now - great with a steak. Has 13% alcohol and 5.3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L211210 on the back label and 20210718 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Screwcap closure. |
