ANSARI AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA 2017 Sustainable, DOCG
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TEDESCHI
Astonishingly delicious and showing beautifully now. Deep intense purple-ruby colour and a remarkable, vibrant, fresh nose with fresh roses, ripe Damson plums, raspberries and black cherries. It’s dry, full bodied, very rich and yet harmonious with slightly spicy, complex, gently earthy, intense, ripe Damson plums with some strawberry-blueberry-black-cherry compote and a lingering, very bright, vanilla-tinged, slightly smoky. autumnal chestnut flan finish with just a hint of chocolate. Made from 40% Corvinone, 35%, Corvina, 20% Rondinella and 5% Oseleta, it has 17.5% alcohol and 9 g/L residual sugar with lot number L11 on the back label. TASTING NOTE: The 2017 Amarone della Valpolicella Ansari is dark and rich in the glass with a heady bouquet of crushed cherries, rosemary, mocha and sweet tobacco. This enters the palate with a pretty inner sweetness up front contrasted by a wave of tart red fruits and exotic spice, taking on a bitter hint of sour citrus toward the close. The 2017 finishes incredibly long, leaving a staining of primary concentration along edgy tannins that promise many years of further development. Drinking window: 2025-2030.
