FLEUR DE SYRAH 2021 AP Costières de Nîmes |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
MICHEL GASSIER |
This NEW in Vintages Rhone blend of 95% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre has deep intense purple colour. The intense nose shows heaps of forward juicy fruit - ripe plums, sour cherries and cassis - with some savoury, spicy, minerally notes. Dry, medium-deep quite well structured, slightly spicy, slightly savoury, juicy, smoked raspberry flavours with a lingering, very bright, herbal finish. Ready-to-drink, it would work will with bbq meats, especially lamb. It has 13.5% alcohol and under 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L3065A3 on the lower part of the glass bottle. |

TASTING NOTE: The Rhône is prized for its ability to produce distinct, versatile wines that are both immediately accessible and ageable. This one is 95% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre and offers robust, bright, tangy fresh red and dark berry fruit, mild spice, and savoury herbs along with the region's famed garrigue notes. A wine that will continue to evolve for another 6+ years. |
