LOS PARAÍSOS BONARDA 2019 Mendoza
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer EL ENEMIGO
The actual name of this grape is Douce Noir which originated in Savoie France is called Bonarda in Argentina. It has nothing to do with true Italian Bonarda. It’s juicy, fruity and usually low in tannin producing crowd-pleaser ready to drink reds. This 2019 has a deep intense purple colour,.The very attractive nose is slightly spicy, cedary and slightly mocha-chocolate-tinged with intense, ripe, plummy-cassis fruit. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured and harmonious, the fairly spicy, intense, ripe plum-cherry-cassis flavours are followed up by a lingering, harmonious, lifted finish. Delicious and ready to drink, this Bonarda was unfiltered (after being fermented and aged in large 100-year-old foudres) and has 13.5% alcohol and under 4 g/L residual sugar with bottling number 2-23165 on the back label.
