NARASSA 2020 IGP Côtes Catalanes
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer LAFAGE
Deep purple colour. Gently spicy, juicy, plum-black-cherry nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, slightly spicy, still firm, plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, very gently cedary, lingering finish. This ready-to-drink, bright, crowd-pleasing blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah has 15% alcohol and under 8 g/L residual sugar with lot number L23046 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Picked in two separate rounds - the largest in September and then a smaller portion of naturally dried grape clusters in November to make two batches which are then blended. CSPC 483313

TASTING NOTE: A blend of Grenache and Syrah, generally in about a 4:1 ratio, the 2020 IGP Cotes Catalanes Narassa features appealing, complex aromas of violets and plummy fruit, reminiscent of blackberries and blueberries. Picked as two separate harvests - one in September and one in November - and then blended, this is full-bodied, richly concentrated and fleshy, with a velvety finish that shows a touch of warmth. It's winter-weight wine, for sure. Drink date: [Now]-2028. Score - 91 (Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com, March 31, 2023) Price $ 24.95
