BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2017 DOCG
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TENUTE SILVIO NARDI
This twelfth Vintages release of Silvio Nardi’s Brunello is showing beautifully now. When it’s this good why wait years? It has a fairly deep bright garnet red colour and a gently spicy, complex, intense, ripe, plum-cherry-cassis nose with some violet-rose floral and gently complex sandalwood-cedar notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, very well structured, faintly spicy, intense, ripe, rounded, plummy-cherry-cassis flavours with a lovely, lingering, gently cedary, mineraly, sandalwood-tinged finish. Has 15.5% alcohol and under 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L21/BR-17-1B on the back label. Aged for 12 months in new and used French oak barriques (Allier) followed by 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. CSPC 922054

It's long and polished with ultra-fine tannins and fresh acidity. Nicely done for the vintage. Drink or hold [through late 2030s]. Score - 94 (jamessuckling.com, Nov. 4, 2021) Price $ 56.95
