IN VIOLAS MERLOT 2018 DOC Cortona
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer POLIZIANO
Here is an attractive, fairly full bodied, delicious Tuscan Merlot that offers lots of satisfaction. It has a very deep intense purple colour and rich, ripe, expansive nose that is loaded with warm ripe Damson plums, black cherry and cassis along with faintly savoury, complex, cedar-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, intense, complex and mouthfilling with attractive, intense, ripe, plum-cassis-black-cherry fruit along with a lingering, bright, rounded, sandalwood-cedar finish that goes on and on. Nice ripe tannins, it’s excellent now and will improve over the next five years. This 100% Merlot which was aged for 16-18 months in French oak barrels has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L120220 on the back label. CSPC 22794
