CHARDONNAY 2021 Sonoma County
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer SIMI
This new 2021 harmonious, crowd-pleasing Sonoma Valley Chard maintains its ready-to-drink, tropical-toasty style of yesteryear. For my taste, this 17th Vintages release (I have reviewed every one) is the the best yet. It has a bright pale straw colour with an intense, spicy, faintly tropical, ripe, lemon-apple meringue nose with lots of cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied and smooth, the spicy, topical-tinged, ripe, lemon-melon-pear puree flavours are followed with a fairly crisp, lingering, cedary finish. Best with poultry and white meats, it has 13.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar. The lot number LW21022021 appears on the lower part of the glass bottle. Screwcap closure. CSPC 673806
