QUADRUS RED 2016 DOP Douro
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer QUADRUS
A REPEAT of the recommended 2016 (**+) was released on November 19, 2022 at $23.95. This hefty 2016 has a deep intense purple colour and a rather complex, ripe, plummy-black-cherry-cassis nose along with some sandalwood-cedar notes. It’s dry, medium to medium-full bodied and well structured with ripe, intense, Damson plum, black cherry and cassis flavours with a touch of garrigue with some fairly robust sandalwood-cedar notes on the lingering finish. Quite extracty with fine mouthfeel, this ripe blend of 55% Touriga Nacional, 30% Tinta Roriz and 15% Sousao has 14% alcohol and now according to the LCBO reduced to 3 g/L residual sugar . CSPC 440305
