LIVING LAND SERIES CABERNET FRANC 2020 BC VQA
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MONTE CREEK
NEW in Vintages. This is the first time I have assessed Monte Creek which is located just east of Kamloops and is just one of only 4 wineries in the Thompson River Valley. It has a deep viiolet-tinged purple colour. The nose is quite intense and bright with ripe, plum-cassis fruit along with some cedary notes. It is very dry, medium bodied and quite well structured with slightly spicy, fresh, ripe, bright, crancherry-cassis-raspberry fruit followed up with a lingering, gently cedary, crisp finish. This blend of 91% Cabernet Franc and 9% Merlot has somewhat modest 12.8% alcohol, 2 g/L residual sugar and a fairly hefty 6.4 g/L total acidity. Bottled in February 2022, it should still improve in the screwcap bottle. Try with a steak. CSPC 30522
