Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
ROLF BINDER |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Very intense, spicy, ripe, plummy, crancherry-cassis nose with lots of minerally, cedary-sandalwood, notes. Dry, very well structured, full bodied, extracty, intense, ripe, plum-cherry-cassis flavours with a lingering, cedary, bright finish. Screwcap closure. This very tasty, mouthfilling blend of 65% Shiraz, 20% Mataro, and 15% Grenache with 14% alcohol and under 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L1 on the back label. |

TASTING NOTE: Gloriously aromatic and inviting, the bouquet shows blackberry, plum jam, game and cedary oak characters, leading to a concentrated palate that is plump and richly textured. The wine offers terrific fruit power and intensity, finishing persistent and silky. At its best: now to 2028. Score - 95 (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, Aug. 2020) |
