FRAPPATO 2021 Sustainable, DOC Sicilia Vittoria
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer PLANETA
In the last 20 years, this is only the eighth Frappato release in Vintages and the fifth from Planeta who first started producing wine from this indigenous rare Sicilian variety grown in Vittorio on the southeast coast only 10 years ago. This 2021 has a lightish red colour - more rose than red. It is quite attractive with slightly spicy, bright, fresh, plum-cherry fruit on the nose with a touch of minerality. Dry and medium to medium-light bodied, it has bright, plum-red-cherry flavours with a lingering, crisp, mineral-tinged finish. It seems totally ready-to-drink now, this unoaked 100% Frappato has 12.5% alcohol and under 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L22G111 on the back label. CSPC 508655
