FLOR DE MAIO MAYFLOWER 2021 Vinho Regional Alentejano
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MAGNUM CARLOS LUCAS
Bright very pale straw colour with a minerally, bright, slightly spicy, buttercup-tinged nose. Dry, medium to medium-light bodied, slightly spicy, chalky, crisp, slightly citrusy, lemon-apple flavours with some slightly leesy, youthful, saline-tinged notes on the unoaked finish. From the hot, dry, Alentejano region which covers most of the southern half of Portugal, this “VR” (or Vinho Regional) is based on two varieties - Arinto (think of Malvasia from Greece) and a thick-skinned native variety called Antão Vaz. This lively, ready-to-drink, blend of Arinto and Antão Vaz has 12.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar. Try with oysters and seafood - serve well chilled. CSPC 18378
