ORENO 2019 IGT Toscana
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer SETTE PONTI
There have been 19 previous Vintages releases of Oreno dating back to December 2010 and this seems to be the best so far. It’s all about elegance, balance, ripeness and harmony. And best of all is its power, accessibility and drinkability. This blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot was aged for 18 months in small barrels.. Very deep intense ruby-violet colour. The nose has intense, warm, slightly earthy, gently cedary notes built around mineral-tinged, bright, ripe, plum-cherry-cassis fruit. Very dry, medium-full bodied, dense and well structured with slightly spicy, intense, bright, ripe, plum-cherry-cassis fruit flavours along with a lingering, surprisingly harmonious, densr, mouthfilling finish. It has 15% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L151220-7 on the back label. CSPC 735597

TASTING NOTE: Wow. Fantastic aromas of blackberries, currants, minerals, violets and graphite. Full-bodied with firm, silky tannins that are incredibly polished and intense, yet ever so refined and integrated in the wine. It goes on for minutes. The is one of the best modern-day Orenos so far. Best in 2025 and onwards. Score - 99 (jamessuckling.com, Feb. 3, 2022) Price $ 103.95
