PINOT NOIR 2020 North Canterbury, South Island
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer NOR'WESTER BY GREYSTONE
New in Vintages. This introductory tier of Greystone comes from various vineyards in North Canterbury. Bright medium-deep red colour. Fairly intense, slightly spicy, ripe, strawberry-raspberry-red-cherry fruit on the nose with some complex, very gently earthy, leafy, very faintly reductive, sandalwood notes. Dry, medium to medium-light bodied albeit fairly quite well structured, firm, bright, ripe, plum-crancherry flavours with a lingering, high-acid, schisty, red licorice-tinged, slightly cedary finish. Fermented in small batch lots with wild yeasts, hand plunged daily for a month and aged 9 months in French oak. It has 13% alcohol and under 2 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. CSPC 30152
