TRIOMPHE ORGANIC PINOT NOIR 2021 Vegan, VQA Niagara Peninsula |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
SOUTHBROOK |
This organic 2021 is a red Pinot Noir - not a rose as described in the posted LCBO tasting note. It has a medium-light red colour. Elegant, attractive aromatics - roses, Damson plum and fraise de bois all of which carry over perfectly to the palate, which is dry, medium bodied, harmonious and bright with a crisp, lively, lingering, mineral-tinged finish. A great choice for fresh salmon and poultry. It has 12.5% alcohol and. 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number 20210429 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Screwcap closure. The recommended 2019 (***) was released on November 5, 2022 at $29.95. |

TASTING NOTE: This rosé was wild-fermented in an open-top oak fermenter before being transferred to second-fill barrels and neutral French barrels for eight months. It's lithe, generous and elegant, with vibrant red fruit, spice and earth. A fresh, juicy Pinot that exudes grace and charm. [note - this is a red wine not a rosé] |
