VAL DE LA OSA MENCIA 2017 DO Bierzo |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
PITTACUM |
Pittacum’s 100% Mencia is from El Bierzo a small region in north-west Spain. NEW in Vintages, it has a deep intense purple colour. The nose shows bright ripe plum with a touch of black cherry and red currants with some minerally, chalky notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious and surprisingly fresh with a bright, lifted flavours that are balanced by a subtle touch of oak on the lingering, very faintly leathery, harmonious finish. It would be perfect with poultry and has 14.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L60177 on the back label. It was aged for 12 months in oak barrels. Don't miss this one. |
