Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ALPHA ESTATE
Malagousia is an aromatic white variety that was rescued from near extinction 40 years ago and is grown in north-western Macedonia. This youthful 2022 has a bright pale straw colour with an intense, still slightly leesy, spicy, floral, yellow grapefruit nose. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, slightly spicy, mineral-driven, faintly tart, apple-melon-grapefruit flavours with a lingering, unoaked, still somewhat grippy finish. Unoaked and aged \"sur lies\" for two months with regular stirring, it as 13.5% alcohol and under 1 g/L residual sugar. Great with seafood. CSPC 32161
