KIM CRAWFORD ROSÉ 2022 New Zealand |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
KIM CRAWFORD |
Today two decades after its first release, it is now based on 98% Merlot (with 2% Malbec) and drier which explains why it's Canada's #1 NZ pink. Extremely pale salmon colour, the fragrant, fresh, attractive, ripe, apple-melon-raspberry nose has some some faint mineral notes. Dry, medium to medium-light bodied, well balanced, slightly spicy, fresh, melon-apple-raspberry fruit flavours with a lingering, bright, refreshing finish. It has 12.5% alcohol and 3.5 g/L residual sugar with lot number 22249 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Screwcap closure. |

TASTING NOTE: Hawke's Bay is one of New Zealand's oldest wine regions and classic Bordeaux varietals do exceptionally well there. This rosé is made from Merlot and Malbec and will offer pink grapefruit, red currant, floral, red plum and candy notes. Perfect for summer salads or grilled seafood. |
