WINEMAKER'S BLEND RED 2020 VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Escarpment
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer THIRTY BENCH
For me, the new 2020 edition of this Vintages Essential is the best release to date scoring 93-points, It has a very deep intense purple colour and lovely, intense, ripe, Damson plum fruit along with black cherry, blueberry and cassis notes on the elegantly cedary nose. Dry, medium to medium-plus bodied, complex, harmonious, intense, plum-black-cherry-cassis flavours followed up by a lingering, bright, very attractive, gently cedary finish. This totally new remarkable blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc and 22% Merlot has 13.4% alcohol, 2. g/L residual sugar and a perfect 6.6g/L total acidity. Barrel aged in 40% American and 60% French oak for 12 months with full malolactic fermentation. Showing beautifully now with lots of ripe mouthfilling fruit. This bottle with lot number 22-272 on the lower part of the glass (September 29, 2022) was tasted on March 31, 2023. A not to be missed bargain. CSPC 320986
