Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, ripe, plum, cherry-cassis fruit on the nose with some minerally, sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, bright, firm, ripe, plum-cherry-cassis flavours with a lingering hint of herbes de Provence and a very bright, gently cedary, fairly complex finish. Youthful and mouthfilling - best with a rib steak, it has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L29222 on the back label. About 50% was aged for 12 months in French oak. NEW in Vintages, it will age well.

| TASTING NOTE:This is from a selection of vineyards growing at altitudes of 1,380 to 1,450 meters, whose grapes ripen early. They also only selected from rocky, calcareous soils. What they're looking for is a less herbal profile with generous fruit, always within the context of vineyards in that zone of Gualtallary. This is a very floral malbec that is also generous in tart black fruits, a red with tremendous acidity and tannic tension. Score - 94. (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2022) |
