Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
EASTDELL |
Deep garnet colour. Intense, complex, very slightly spicy, bright, slightly earthy, ripe, plum-cherry-black-currant fruit on the nose with some cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, harmonious, very slightly spicy, ripe plum-cassis-black-cherry flavours with a lingering, bright, slightly leathery, cedar-tinged, very faintly herbal finish. Quite ready-to-drink but is likely to still improve. This previous blend was 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 29% Cabernet Franc. It has 13% alcohol and according to the LCBO 6 g/L residual sugar with lot number 20200322 on the lower part of the glass bottle. |

TASTING NOTE: This blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot has a splash of Shiraz in the mix. The wine has a broad, open appeal, with rich, inviting chocolate notes mingling with dark fruit, tobacco, savoury herbs, leather, oak and spice. A great option for grilled meats or black-bean burgers. |
