RED TRACTOR CABERNET/MERLOT 2020 VQA Niagara Peninsula |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

CREEKSIDE |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, youthful, ripe, plummy, crancherry nose with some gently minerally notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, intense, gently grippy, fairly dense, ripe Damson plum flavours with a lingering, bright, faintly peppery, minerally, sandalwood finish. Try with a bbq steak. This blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc has 13.5% alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar with a cork closure with lot number L052622 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Still quite firm, this is definitely improved since last tasted on November 5, 2022 at $17.95 and will even be better in a year from now. |

TASTING NOTE: Creekside Red Tractor 2020 is great value at $18. Produced from 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc sourced from three Niagara-on-the-Lake vineyards, vinified and aged in small lots prior to the final blend. The wine is dry, medium-plus-bodied and concentrated with blackberry, spiced plum, wild herbs, chocolate and well-integrated toasty oak spice flavours juicy on the palate. So good now. Drink: 2022-2025. Best Value Wine. Score - 89 (nataliemaclean.com, Nov. 5, 2022) |
