LA GRANGE DES COMBES SAINT-CHINIAN-ROQUEBRUN 2020 AC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CAVE DE ROQUEBRUN
This tasty, ready-to-drink blend of 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre has a deep intense purple colour. The nose is ripe and very juicy with slightly spicy, ripe, plummy-black-cherry-raspberry fruit with some floral, faintly cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, spicy, fairly intense, ripe, plum-cherry flavours are followed up with a lingering, minerally, faintly cedary finish. The rounded ripe fruit is the result of being vinified in whole bunches for 25-30 days in vats (aka carbonic maceration). This is its 11th appearance in Vintages since 2010. It has 14% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L22287A. CSPC 155804

TASTING NOTE: This wine features the who's who of Languedoc varieties, with Syrah leading the way joined by Grenache and Mourvèdre. It's complex and layered, with lavender, blueberry, black olive, vanilla, mocha, spice, and earthy mineral notes. Muscular, but with a fine food-friendly balance. Give this a try with spicy grilled sausages, lamb, or smoked Gouda.
