DISTINCTION BACO NOIR 2021 VQA Ontario |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
TRIUS |
Youthful deep purple colour Very fresh, slightly spicy, somewhat floral. rosehip nose with youthful, very faintly leesy, ripe, plummy-raspberry fruit. Dry, medium bodied, youthful, tangy, bright, fresh, plum, red and black cherry fruit flavours along with some lingering, bright, minerally, sandalwood notes. Still quite youthful, I would like to taste it in six months time. It was fermented on skins for 14 days and aged for 8 months in 100% French oak barrels followed up by full malolactic fermentation to soften the acidity. Has 12.5% alcohol, a hefty 10 g/L residual sugar and 6.2 g/L total acidity with lot number 21391736L1 on the lower part of the glass bottle. New in Vintages. |

TASTING NOTE: This Baco was aged for eight months in 100% French oak barrels for added structure, depth and complexity. It's got silky tannins, food-friendly acidity and bold juicy flavours of dark plum, black cherry and sweet vanilla, with a hint of cola. |
