Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
ANSELMANN |
Bright light straw colour. Intense, sweet, caramel-tinged, Seville orange marmalade nose with a touch of spicy, apple sauce. Sweet, medium bodied, fairly rich, rounded, spicy, honeyed-caramel flavours with bright, citrusy, orange marmalade fruit compote followed up by a lingering, faintly viscous, ripe-caramel-apple, vanilla sugar finish. Comprised of 100% Ortega grapes, it has 10.5% alcohol and 134 g/L residual sugar with 8.5 g/L total acidity (lot number APN 590766308620 is on the back label). This fine dessert wine also goes well with blue cheese or a foie gras appetizer. NEW in Vintages. |

TASTING NOTE: (Translated from the French): This wine reveals itself to the eye with a beautiful light golden yellow color and golden glints. The nose is both lively and expressive. Minerality and menthol open the first nose, which quickly gives way to exotic aromas reminiscent of passion fruit. The mouth delivers a lively attack, as well as the sweetness perceived in the nose, with a complex fruitiness: citrus fruits, apricot, peach, but also apple. The right balance between acidity and residual sugar preserves the digestibility of this wine, which gives it a persistent finish. Score - Gold (Vinalies Internationales, 2021) |
