AMBASSADOR CARMENÈRE 2017 Valle del Maule
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ALYAN FAMILY)
Carmenère is to Chile what Malbec is to Argentina. Unfortunately, Carmenère seems to be a bit more difficult to manage in terms of ripening. This can mean that some youthful herbal greenish notes may predominate in cooler years. Thankfully, in this case, they are muted by plummy ripeness. Deep purple-red in colour, it is dry, bright, medium bodied and quite well structured with some plummy notes on the lingering, minerally finish. All in all quite tasty, try with rare steak. It has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L19051 on the back label. NEW in Vintages. CSPC 27205
