Very deep intense purple colour. Intense, expressive, classy, very ripe, plum-cherry nose with some cedary, mocha-chocolate-mineral notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, dense, harmonious, well structured, bright, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, crisp, gently cedary, mocha-chocolate finish. This new blend has 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 9% Syrah, 6% Cabernet Franc , 3% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot with 13.5% alcohol with 2 g/L residual sugar and only 5.1 g/L total acidity. It was was 100% barrel aged for 18 months in 51% new oak - American (62%) and French (38%). |

TASTING NOTE: Built around Cabernet and Merlot, this wine was grown in Hedges Family's estate vineyards in Red Mountain and blends Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with splashes of other varieties. It's showing complex aromas and flavours of dark and brambly fruit, forest floor, fresh mulberry, plum, cassis, cinnamon, clove, vanilla and cocoa. Pour alongside roast beef tenderloin with tangy currant jus. |
