| Very deep intense purple colour. Complex, very slightly spicy, ripe, Damson plum nose with some hints of black cherry and gentle woodsy cedar notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, quite well structured, faintly spicy, gently complex, ripe, plum-cassis-cherry flavours with a lingering, bright, gently cedary, fairly youthful albeit harmonious finish. This tasty blend of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec, 2% Shiraz and 3% Petit Verdot was aged for 9 months in a combination of 1 and 2 year old French oak. Perfect with a rib steak, it has 12.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number 2020 08 05-10 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Screwcap closure. More accessible that the recommended 2017 (**+) that was last released on April 30, 2022 at $25. |

The blend is always a little different, allowing Creekside to make the very most of their best fruit in every vintage (another secret to this wine's history of success). The 2018 is ripe and generous, with dark fruit, mocha, oak, baking spice, savoury herbs, and a smoked-meat character. |
