Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, slightly spicy, gently juicy, ripe raspberry-plum purée nose with some minerally notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite nicely structured, spicy, juicy, straightforward, plum-cherry-raspberry fruit with a lingering, bright, faintly savory, somewhat peppery finish. This ready-to-drink, fairly commercial, crowd-pleaser has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L2235 on the lower part of the glass bottle 211214 on the back label. TASTING NOTE: Sweetly fruited and perfumed, showing dark cherry, mulberry, mixed spice and almond characters on the nose, leading to a beautifully rounded palate offering succulent fruit flavours and fleshy texture. It's upfront and flavoursome. At its best: now to 2027. Score - 91 (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, March 2021) |
