BRUT ROSÉ CRÉMANT DE BOURGOGNE Traditional method, AC, Burgundy, France |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
HENRI CHAMPLIAU |
This very pleasant blend of 75% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay and 10% Gamay with 15 months of lees aging has a bright very pale light pink colour. The nose is focused on fresh, ripe, red berry fruit along accompanied by some slight chalky notes. It is dry, medium to medium-light bodied with bright, red-cherry-apple fruit flavours followed up with an effervescent, well-balanced, ready-to-drink finish. This batch has lot number L12032-1 on the lower part of the glass bottle, 12.5% alcohol and about 9 g/L residual sugar. It is a tasty crowd-pleaser but sadly not up to the ancient Decanter 95-point tasting note quoted in the Vintages Catalogue (the sought after complexity of brioche is totally absent). |
