RESERVE BACO NOIR 2021 VQA Ontario |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
TRIUS |
This 100% Baco Noir is NEW in Vintages. It has a fairly deep purle-garnet colour with a gently spicy, ripe. plummy, crancherry nose with a touch of cedar. Dry, medium bodied and quite well structured with spicy, bright, plummy-red-currant flavours and a lingering, fairly harmonious, tangy finish. This casual, ready-to-drink red has 13% alcohol and 11 g/L residual sugar that does not show it’s sweetness due to a high 6.23 g/L total acidity. It has full malolactic with 8 months aging in French oak. Try with a wintery beef stew. The lot number 212612 on the lower part of the glass bottle suggests that it was bottled on Boxing Day 2021. Screwcap closure. |

TASTING NOTE: This is an aromatic, complex, layered Baco Noir with great weight and presence. Bold and juicy with a velvety mouthfeel, it has generous ripe dark fruit, beetroot, vanilla, earth and spice tones. Try this with everything from hearty vegetarian chili to chargrilled ribs. |
