AGLIANICO 2020 IGT Campania |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
TERREDORA DI PAOLO |
This 100% Aglianico (aka the Barolo of the South) has a fairly deep garnet colour. The shows good complexity and lots of the traditional, dried red cherry fruit along with some dusty, sandalwood-licorice notes. Dry, medium-deep bodied and harmonious, the slightly spicy, ripe, gently woodsy, plummy flavours have some gentle savoury notes along with an attractive, lifted, fairly complex finish. Attractive and getting ready-to-drink, it has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L22180 on the capsule. NEW in Vintages. |

TASTING NOTE: A pristine and slightly rustic expression of aglianico with red cherry jam, rust, roasted herbs, peppercorn and cocoa beans. Fluid, bright and medium-bodied on the mid-palate followed by some fine-grained, vertical tannins before a grippy and savory finish. Drink now [through mid-2020s].
