GRAND RESERVE 2017 WO Stellenbosch
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer DELHEIM
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Initial aromatics are intense and seem slightly green. The nose then opens up with some swirling which brings on a raft of ripe plum, cherry, cassis, sandalwood, cedar and mineral notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, intense, gently complex, fairly dense, ripe, plum-crancherry-cassis fruit along with a lingering, cedar-sandalwood-tinged, high acid finish. This tasty blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc is aged for 18 months in 300L French oak barrels and has 14% alcohol, 2 g/L residual sugar and 6 g/L total acidity with lot number 249-18-B1/3 on the lower part of the glass bottle.
