CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2019 Sonoma County |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
SIMI |
Deep intense purple colour. Attractive, fairly intense, gently spicy, ripe, plum-crancherry nose with some cedary notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, intense, ripe, plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, slightly cedary, well balanced, fairly extracty finish. This NEW blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 3% Malbec, 3% Petit Sirah, 2% Peit Verdot, 2% Carignane, 1% Zinfandel and 1% other varieties has 13.5% alcohol and under 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number 22076 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Much better than the 2017 (**/**+) that was released on February 6, 2021 at $26.95. |

TASTING NOTE: The 2019 vintage of this popular Cabernet from Simi brought friends along for the ride: small percentages of Merlot, Malbec, Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot, Carignane and Zinfandel. It's loaded with dark plum, cherry, black pepper, chocolate, cola and smoke. This balanced, generous wine is ideal for steak or grilled mushrooms and will reward another 4+ years of patience. |
