KIDIA RESERVE CARMENÈRE 2018 Sustainable, single vineyard, DO Valle Pencahue |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
VIÑA DEL PEDREGAL |
Deep intense purple-red colour. Intense, fairly complex, slightly spicy, gently herbal, ripe, plum-crancherry nose with some mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, harmonious, fairly intense, ripe, plummy-crancherry fruit flavours with a lingering, slightly spicy, bright, fresh, fairly extracty finish. Very well priced and great served in a large glass. This 100% Carmenere spent 8 months in French oak (20% first use, 50% second use and 30% third use) and has 14% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L22270 on the back label. The family-owned Pedregal winery dates back to 1825 and was one of the first to import classic Bordeaux varieties into Chile almost 200 years ago. NEW in Vintages.
