CALVARY HILL SHIRAZ 2019 Lyndoch, Barossa Valley, South Australia |

SISTER'S RUN |
Very deep intense purple colour. Intense, slightly spicy, bright, attractive, ripe, cherry-cassis nose with some faintly smoky cedary notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, tangy, ripe, plum-cherry-cassis flavours with a lingering, cedary, harmonious, bright finish. This ready-to-drink, well-priced, crowd-pleaser has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L2147 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Screwcap closure. Kudos to Dave Brookes well-written tasting note in the Vintages Catalogue. A REPEAT of the 2019 that was a late arrival and untasted for the April 2, 2022 release at $19.95. |

TASTING NOTE: Ginger-spiced, ripe red and dark plum fruits wash over a backdrop of Asian spice, milk chocolate, jasmine and earth, for a most enticing first sniff. The fruit attack on the palate fans out nicely and shows plummy exuberance, packed with exotic spice, earth, softly spoken oak and pressed flowers. The wine tightens on the exit and the acidity kicks in brightly as the tail lights fade. Drink by: 2038. Special Value. Score - 91 (Dave Brookes, winecompanion.com.au, March 3, 2022) |
