LUCCHINE VALPOLICELLA 2021 Sustainable, DOC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TEDESCHI
This NEW in Vintages release appears on page 40 of the Vintages Catalogue (see http://vintageassessments.com/MVC/221105.pdf) with James Suckling’s 90-POINT score. Unfortunately, that seems to be his entry-level score for a plethora of pleasant, drinkable wines that used to garner only 88-points. For me, this feel-good, easy drinking red deserves 88-88.5. It will not disappoint at the price with its somewhat lightish medium-deep red colour. The slightly spicy, gently juicy, ripe plum-crancherry nose is followed up by dry, medium to medium-light bodied, bright, plum-crancherry-raspberry fruit flavours with a crisp, clean, mineral-tinged finish. This blend of 25% Corvina, 25% Corvinone, 30% Rondinella, 10% Molinara and 10% Rossignola, Negrara and Dindarella has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L2 on the back label.
