CHÂTEAU SAINT-ROCH CHIMÈRES GSC2019 AP Côtes du Roussillon-Villages
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CHÂTEAU SAINT-ROCH
A consistent crowd-pleaser, this 2019 has a bright extremely deep intense purple-ruby colour. The intense nose shows lots of spicy, gently complex, juicy, plum-cherry-cassis fruit with some cedar-mocha-chocolate-sage notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied and rather spicy, the intense, ripe, plummy-black-cherry purée flavours are followed up with a mineral-tinged, cedary, lingering, extracty, garrigue-tinged, smoky finish. This blend of 40% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 30% Cinsault is half aged in demi-muids, the other half in concrete tanks and has 15% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with a new lot number L21348A on the lower part of the glass bottle.
