| Assessed from a bottle provided by the winery. Bright pale salmon pink colour. Attractive, intense, slightly spicy, gently floral, wild strawberry, ripe, plum-apple purée nose. Dry, medium-light bodied, intense, bright, fresh, ripe, strawberry-plum-apple-cherry flavours with a lingering, mineral-tinged, crisp finish. This 2021 new organic blend of 92% Pinot Noir , 5% Viognier and 3% Chardonnay (new) has 12.4% alcohol and .8 g/L residual sugar with 6.3 g/L total acidity and bottling lot number 2022-04-06 on the lower part of the glass bottle.This whole-cluster pressed organic Pinot Noir along with a small saignée portion were fermented in neutral French oak and aged for 5 months prior to racking and blending. Recently bottled and initially coravined and tasted on May 20, it was retasted on June 5 and 17 and had risen from 90-points to 92-points. It still needs more time in bottle to come together - up 18 months. One of the top rosés tasted this year, it would be perfection for Canada Day served with poached fresh Atlantic salmon. |
