TAVEL 2021 AC |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
CHÂTEAU D'AQUÉRIA |
This very tasty Vintages Wine of the Month has a bright pale reddish colour. Intense, spicy, ripe, red-apple-plum nose with some floral, mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied, nicely structured, tangy, gently spicy, ripe apple-plum-raspberry flavours with a lingering, bright, fresh, still youthful, crisp, harmonious finish. Versatile - would work well with salmon and/or roast chicken. The entire Southern Rhone commune of Tavel is solely dedicated 100% to Rosé - no reds or whites. This blend (same as the 2020) of 45% Grenache, 20% Clairette, 15% Cinsault, 8% Mourvèdre, 6% Syrah, 4% Bourboulenc & 2% Picpoul has 14.3% alcohol and under 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number LT2005 on the back label. |

TASTING NOTE: This rich, savoury wine has excellent concentration and presence, with well-defined raspberry and strawberry fruit. It's elegant and balanced, with mineral and herbal notes in support. This will be great with grilled sausages, smoked salmon, or vegan wraps with vegetables, rice and chipotle black beans. This style of rosé can drink well for 5+ years from vintage. |
