CHARDONNAY 2018 California
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TOM GORE
A FOURTH REPEAT of the 2018 (**/**+) that was last released on October 30, 2021 at $19.95. Just retasted from a bottle with lot number LN1-75-20-012 on the lower part of the glass bottle. This traditional California Chard is now just a tad crisper than in the past as 2% Sauvignon Blanc has been added to the blend pushing up the acidity. Also 40% is aged in stainless steel while 60% still sees oak. Very bright pale straw colour, the nose is quite spicy and faintly tropical with ripe lemon meringue and toasty-cedary notes. Quite dry, medium bodied, fairly well structured and harmonious with spicy, ripe, lemon meringue flavours and a lingering, gently cedary finish. It has 13.5% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar .
